Toxins, Terrain and Torus
Toxins and Terrain
We are exposed to a cocktail of toxins on a daily basis – in the air, in our water, in our food, in the products we use, in the furniture upon which we sit, in pharmaceutical products (medicines/vaccines) and hygiene products to name a few!
The body is able to manage a level of toxin load but over time, this accumulates and symptoms start to develop.
It is important to consider the toxin load, which toxins, which body system or tissues are affected, whether they’re causing deficiencies in the body and the knock on effect of this.
“Ecological Medicine is not a specialty, because it does not restrict itself to one part of the body or one type of disease.” Like Osteopathy, Somatics and Vitalfield, “it is an approach that sees the whole body as a joined-up ecosystem, and also sees it within the ecosystem of the planet we live on.”
Many of the philosophies and tenets of native medicine consider how your nutrition and environment are affecting your body and mind, what causes you to ‘not feel right’ and how to restore your health (with better energy and mental clarity) while preventing future illness. It doesn’t rely on drugs, it takes account that we are all genetically unique and therefore all biomechanically, biochemically and bioenergetically different.
Ecological Medicine can be split into two categories – what we put in and what we take out, to be healthy.
Nutrition – how we fuel our body to provide the right nutrients to live a well and fulfilling life
Environmental – What do we need to eliminate or remove, to allow us to return to health and to thrive.
Did you know that people receive a diagnosis or have symptoms that have causes relating to our environment and nutrition? Therefore, many are potentially preventable.

Terrain Theory
Béchamp’s Terrain Theory, proposed by the French scientist Antoine Béchamp in the 19th century, emphasizes the importance of the internal environment of the body (the “terrain”) in relation to disease. Béchamp argued that microorganisms, such as bacteria, are not the primary cause of disease but rather opportunistic agents that thrive in a body that is out of balance or unhealthy. This theory contrasts with the germ theory of disease, which posits that specific pathogens cause specific diseases.
Béchamp believed that maintaining a healthy terrain—through proper nutrition, lifestyle, and hygiene—was crucial for preventing illness. His ideas have influenced some natural health approach.
Béchamp’s work has sparked ongoing discussions about the relationship between microorganisms and health, as well as the importance of holistic approaches to wellness.

Learn MoreTorus
The human toroidal electromagnetic field refers to the concept that the human body generates a field similar to a torus.
This field is thought to be created by the interaction of the body’s electrical and magnetic activities, such as those from the heart and brain.
Key Concepts
- •Torus Shape – The field is visualized as a toroidal structure, where energy flows in through the bottom, around the body, and out the top, creating a continuous loop.
- •Bioelectricity – The human body produces electrical impulses through neural and muscular activity. The heart, in particular, generates a significant electromagnetic field.
- •Energy Field – Some holistic and alternative health perspectives suggest that this toroidal field influences emotional and physical well-being, affecting interactions with the environment and others.
- •Scientific Exploration – While the concept of the human toroidal field is popular in certain spiritual and metaphysical circles, scientific research into the exact nature and implications of these fields is ongoing, often focusing on the electromagnetic aspects of heart and brain function.
- •Sources of information and evidence can be found at the HeartMath Institute

Applications and Implications
- •Healing Practices – Some alternative healing practices aim to balance or enhance this field for improved health and well-being.
- •Meditation and Mindfulness – Practices like meditation may help individuals tune into their energy fields and promote a sense of balance.
Overall, the idea of the human toroidal electromagnetic field bridges science, spirituality, and holistic health, inspiring further exploration and understanding of human energy dynamics.
